QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Can my nurse check my vital signs?

Yes! Whether it's to renew your medication or for a check-up, just ask! You don't need a doctor's note or prescription for this specific service.

Are blood testing services available for children?

We offer services for children over 12 months old. Depending on the child's age, two adults may be required.

Do I need a prescription to do tests?

Yes, a prescription is required for all types of tests provided by a physician or nurse practitioner with a valid license in Canada.

Can my nurse teach me how to administer my medication?

Absolutely! With a prescription, we can demonstrate how to administer subcutaneous injections, medicated creams, inhalers, and oral medications. Please contact our team for more information.

My veins are hard to prick! How can I prepare?

Please inform the receptionist or your nurse. Our nurses are experienced and have specific techniques for treating difficult veins. In the meantime, avoid coffee if possible and stay hydrated as much as possible.

I'm afraid of needles. How can I reduce my anxiety?

It is very important to inform your nurse of any concerns or fears you have before your blood test. We encourage you to use relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, listening to music or your favorite podcast, and chatting with a friend or your nurse during the procedure!

I have a history of fainting and/or dizziness, what should I do?

It is crucial to communicate with your nurse before the blood test. Your nurse will encourage you to lie down comfortably if possible, and to have water nearby and a damp cloth if necessary.
